GMB's BISTRO: Episode 1 - Introduction
Did you know? The name "Bistro" originates from the Napoleonic wars when troops in Paris would shout "Bistro" ("quickly") to tavern waiters. Just as a Bistro delivers a delicate selection of dishes swiftly, GMB adopted this term to represent our Fast and Low-Cost preconfigured solution based on SAP BRIM.
GMB's BISTRO accelerates Quote-to-Cash implementation to just about 2 quarters. For those seeking a "gourmet" implementation, beneath the surface, the robust SAP BRIM offers significant additional “horsepower”.
Is your company:
Aiming to implement Subscription and Consumption models, Everything-As-A-Service, or Recurrent Revenues on a limited budget?
Requiring Industry-Specific Templates (e.g., Telco, Hi-Tech, Servitization, Public Sector)?
Open to Best Practices to avoid costly hyper-customizations?
Needing SAP BRIM implemented in just 6 months instead of the typical 12 to 18 months?

Quote-to-Cash Digital-Transformation based on BISTRO – #Episode19
Today we are proud to share our new website https://www.gmbbistro.com dedicated to #BISTRO, our #QuoteToCash preconfigured instance of #SAPBRIM, that can be implemented in 2 quarters under an #IaaS (#ImplementationAsAService) model.
Why can we implement #BISTRO in 2 quarters?
#BISTRO has several End-2-End baseline pre-configurations, industry #Accelerators, #FlexibleServices and a unique #PreconfiguredMediation, including a #ConsumptionsLoader triggered from #BISTROCockpit.
#GMB applies an implementation methodology like which is used in #SAPPublicCloud solutions, giving to the customer the option to choose among available pre-configurations instead of asking the customer, everything that should be configured.
#BusinessProcess and #IndustryOriented approach of #BISTRO offers a friendly experience, especially for decision-makers and key users.
In summary, #GMB offers savings for at least 6 months of implementation.
How does the #ImplementationAsAService (#IaaS) work?
#GMB offers the customer a #MonthlyRecurrentCharge (#MRC) for the basic pre-configurations and a small charge for data migration, integration, and mandatory customs.
And closing the loop, #GMB offers an #AMS, included in the #MRC.
For those customers with a mature #Subscription and #Outcome business model, looking to initiate a #DigitalTransformation of their #QuoteToCash processes, or for those customers looking to quickly ramp-up into an #EverythingAsAService (#XaaS), #DeviceAsAService (#DaaS) or #SoftwareAsAService (#SaaS) model, #GMB invites to visit our new website at: https://www.gmbbistro.com or contact us at bistro@gmbtechnology.com

Quote-to-Cash Digital-Transformation based on BISTRO – #Episode18
This #Episode18, we want to shed light on an important topic that often goes unnoticed in the realm of #SAPBRIM solution, the significance of a captivating and user-friendly front-end. We aim to share our insights on why a well-designed interface is not just a superficial enhancement but a crucial element that can transform the way businesses operate their #SAP #QuoteToCash solution.
Traditionally, #SAPBRIM is recognized for its robust backend functionality, enabling businesses to streamline their billing, invoicing, and revenue management processes. However, the front-end experience has often been neglected, resulting in clunky interfaces that hinder user productivity and inhibit the full utilization of this powerful tool.
So, why should be invested in a visually appealing and intuitive front-end for #SAPBRIM? Here are a few compelling reasons:
Enhancing User Adoption: A delightful user experience is key to driving user adoption. By providing a sleek and user-friendly interface, it’s possible to empower users to embrace #SAPBRIM with confidence. When employees find the system easy to navigate and interact with, they are more likely to embrace its full potential and become enthusiastic advocates for its adoption within their teams.
Increased Efficiency and Productivity: A well-designed front-end simplifies complex processes and minimizes the learning curve, ultimately boosting efficiency and productivity. Intuitive navigation, clear workflows, and contextual information presentation allow users to quickly access the information they need, perform tasks seamlessly, and focus on value-added activities instead of grappling with the system's intricacies.
Competitive Advantage: In today's highly competitive business landscape, differentiation is vital. By investing in a beautiful front-end for #SAPBRIM, it’s possible to apart from competitors who may overlook the importance of design. A visually appealing interface demonstrates commitment to innovation and excellence, attracting prospective customers and partners alike.
Employee Satisfaction and Retention: User experience directly influences employee satisfaction and retention rates. A poorly designed interface can lead to frustration, dissatisfaction, and decreased productivity among employees. Conversely, an engaging front-end that prioritizes usability and aesthetics can contribute to a positive work environment, boosting employee morale and retention.
In conclusion, #SAPBRIM is the most powerful #QuoteToCash solution, but its true potential can only be realized with a well-designed front-end. By investing in an intuitive and visually appealing interface, we can drive user adoption, increase efficiency, elevate the customer experience, gain a competitive edge, and foster employee satisfaction. Let's seize this opportunity to #Transform the way businesses operate and deliver exceptional outcomes.

Quote-to-Cash Digital-Transformation based on BISTRO – #Episode17
This #Episode17 intends to trigger a discussion about the feasibility of an #Implementation-As-A-Service (#IaaS) model to implement a #QuoteToCash #DigitalTransformation.
Points to discuss:
Is your company an #SME looking to implement #Subscription and #Outcome based model?
Is your company a large manufacturer looking to implement #Everything-As-A-Service (#XaaS) or #Device-As-A-Service (#DaaS)?
Is your company a Software vendor looking to implement #Software-As-A-Service (#SaaS)?
What all these cases have in common?
SMEs normally have a limited budget for the implementation.
Large companies ramping up into #XaaS, #DaaS or #SaaS, probably prefer to isolate their new ventures in separated LoBs, regarding that #Payback of Goods sold under #Subscription is longer than the traditional #OneOff model.
Could we agree on these facts?
#Subscription and #Outcome based model matches better with an #OPEX model than a #CAPEX model.
Solution vendors, like #SAP, are offering their #Quote-To-Cash solutions #BRIM or #SAPCloud on a #Subscription following #RISE model.
However, System Integrators continue offering their #ImplementationServices close to a One-Off model, payable in a short window of about 1 year.
No room #ImplementationAsAService?
#DigitalTransformation could be driven through a disruptive methodology, leveraged by preconfigured #QuoteToCash solutions like #BISTRO?
#ImplementationServices could be offered on an #ImplementationAsAService (#IaaS) model, following #Subscription terms like those proposed by #SAP #RISE?
Let us kindly invite you to have a deep discussion into #GMB’s #ImplementationAsAService model, leveraged by #BISTRO, a preconfigured #Quote-2-Cash solution, based on #SAPBRIM.

Quote-to-Cash Digital-Transformation based on BISTRO – #Episode16
This #Episode16 intends to extend and escalate #DigitalTransformational discussions of #QuoteToCash (#Q2C) to the #AssetToCash (#A2C) core process. One collateral inconvenient of the #Servitization implementation, also carry with them #traceability and #compliance challenges, of thousands or millions of company #Assets, usually called #CPEs or #CustomerPremisesEquipment, located in multiple third-party locations.
Attention points to brainstorm:
Is your #QuoteToCash solution embedded in your #ERP? And if not, is your integration with your #Shipping, #InventoryManagement and #Asset Management facilities strong enough?
Do you have traceability of all your #CPEs?
Could you manage #Change and #Maintenance Orders capable of checking #guaranties, #value increase or decrease and their associated #depreciations?
GMB’s BISTRO, a preconfigured instance of #SAPBRIM, is totally embedded into #S/4HANA environment, offering a unique 360 umbrella, capable to ensure traceability, consistency, and auditability of:
#Assets that are transformed into #Services => #Servitization
And #Services that produce #Revenues.
Quote-2-Cash (#Q2C) + Customer Premises Equipment Management (#CPE) =
Asset-2-Cash (#A2C)

Quote-to-Cash Digital-Transformation based on BISTRO – #Episode15
When #Subscription based business model could be considered a 1st Stage of #DigitalTransformation to move from #One-Off offerings into #RecurrentRevenues, the 2nd Stage of #DigitalTransformation is to move into #Consumption based offerings.
This #Episode15 intends to remove the preconcept that giving customers more flexibility to buy what they need, based on their #Consumptions, it’s not a challenge, beyond massive number of #UDRs (Usage Consumption Records) that should be collected from multiple sources and in multiple formats.
Is your #ChiefRevenueOfficer concerned about tentative #RevenueLeakages consequence of potential loss of #Consumptions to be billed?
Everyone knows that a key component of a #Quote-To-Cash solution is to have a strong #Mediation to collect, validate, deduplicate, format, enrich and forward #UDRs into the #Rating component. But here is where other preconcept jump in, is it necessary to start from scratch #Mediation configuration to move into #Consumption based model?
#GMB’s #Bistro offers some unique preconfigurations at #SAPMediation (by #DigitalRoute), that accelerate #Consumption based model implementation:
An initial process that maps all different consumption records collected from dissimilar sources into a #UniversalUDR, what simplify the standardization and mapping of input formats.
A #UDR Loader allows the upload of consumption files into #SAPMediation, directly from #Bistro Cockpit in #FIORI environment, what facilitate the ramp-up of those that like to manage low volumes of consumptions or don’t like to set up an interface.
A Validation Flow that oversees audit, archiving, de-duplication, validation, enrichment, aggregation, and mapping of #UniversalUDRs into a #UniversalCDRs based on #SAPMediation.

Quote-to-Cash Digital-Transformation based on BISTRO – Episode#14
This #Episode14 is dedicated to discussing how to #Accelerate a #Quote-to-Cash #Transformation in the #Telco industry, based on #Accelerators and #FlexibleTemplates.
How can this be made feasible?
Minimizing #ChangeManagement through a customized #Telco oriented #Cockpit.
Preconfiguring #ProductManagement and #OrderManagement for:
o Standardized sales for #B2C operations, that need #Efficiency through a #Low-Touch to #Zero-Touch process.
o And Tailor-Made sales for #B2B operations, that need #CPQ features to bundle Enterprise and Corporate #TelecommunicationSolutions.
Enabling a #Telco #Catalog with #Accelerators or #BestPractice preconfigured services, that will enable a #Fast ramp-up of #Telco services like: #Fixed-LineTelephony, #MobileService, #InternetConnectivity, #IPTV, #CloudServices and #EnterpriseSolutions.
Closing the loop, a #Quote-to-Cash preconfigured solution, always should offer #FlexibleTemplates to quickly enable new #One-Off Flexible Services, #One-Off Flexible Materials, and #Flexible Usages based on #Time, #Volume and #Events.
#GMB’s #BISTRO is a preconfigured #Quote-to-Cash solution, based on #SAPBRIM, and plenty of #BestPractices, #IndustryAccelerators and #FlexibleTemplates, that enable a #Fast (about 2 quarters) and a #Low-Cost implementation.

Quote-to-Cash Digital-Transformation based on BISTRO – Episode#13
This #Episode13 is dedicated to discussing the convenience of a #DiscoveryPhase vs. moving directly into a #MinimumViableProduct (#MVP), decisions that impact not only in #Overheads also in transformation #Delays.
Concepts to trigger the discussion:
Is your company jumping into #QuoteToCash project without a previous #Transformation analysis?
As we explained in our Episode#7, has your company prioritized #Requirements and defined #Scope before hiring a specific #Solution?
Is your company expecting to implement and fund a #Quote-To-Cash solution without any of the artifacts mentioned above?
Thoughts to brainstorm:
Probably, without a previous #AgnosticTransformation analysis, a lot of #CurrentPractices, not necessarily optimized, are going to be enforced into the new solution, pushing several #Inefficiencies.
Not having clarity on final #Requirements and #Scope, or having them only at a high-level, is your company expecting to delegate on solutions presale teams the #BallPark estimation of your project?
Having said that,
If your company is expecting to move into a new #Quote-To-Cash solution, without a previous #AgnosticTransformation or an appropriate #RequirementsPrioritization and #Scope definition, then the traditional option proposes to run a #DiscoveryPhase. That activity, during a period of 8 to 12 weeks, will identify a high-level #EnterpriseArchitecture, capable of supporting #BusinessExpectations assessed during the activity.
However, could you be sure that this “Theorical” architecture will support your #BusinessExpectations? Why don’t you run that #Discovery directly through a #MVP? A #MVP could show, in real, how your #FMO (Future Model of Operation) is going to look, saving #Time, #Money and avoiding #Risks.
#GMB’s #Quote-to-Cash unique #DigitalTransformation approach and their #BISTRO, a preconfigured #Quote-to-Cash solution, based on #SAPBRIM, plenty of #BestPractices, #IndustryAccelerators and #FlexibleTemplates, it will enable a combined #DiscoveryPhase and #MVP, which will show a real picture of your targeted #EnterpriseArchitecture.

This #Episode12 is dedicated to discussing how to #Accelerate the implementation of #Flexible and #Efficient mechanisms to ensure #RevenueStreams of Departments of Motor Vehicles (#DMVs) and Departments of Transportation (#DOTs), based on #Accelerators and #FlexibleTemplates.
How can this be made feasible?
§ Preconfiguring major use cases for Departments of Motor Vehicles (#DMVs), based on #Accelerators or #BestPractices, that will enable a #Fast ramp-up of Plates Registration, Driver Licensing and Registration Fees Management.
§ Preconfiguring major use cases for Departments of Transportation (#DOTs), based on #Accelerators or #BestPractices, that will enable a #Fast ramp-up of Tolling Operations, Road Usage Charging, Parking, Congestion Management, State Visitors Passes and Bridge Passes Management.

For all the cases, #Tolling records can be based on Camera Records or Virtual Plazas Positioning provided by #OBDs devices with #GPS facilities.
§ Facilitating the maximum flexibility for the Smooth Migration to #RoadUsageCharging, which acceptance obligates to Think Big but Start Simple. How? Through a wide range of pricing models, from a #Flat or #Tiered #Subscription, to a #Distance based #Tolling supported by #OBDs devices with or without #GPS facilities.

Quote-to-Cash Digital-Transformation based on BISTRO – Episode#10
This #Episode10 is dedicated to brainstorm how a #QuoteToCash #Transformation can be done #Fast and #LowCost.
Thoughts to brainstorm:
Are companies ramping up into #Subscription and #Consumption or #EverythingAsAService models, really need a #FullScope and #FullPrice implementation from the beginning? Or are they just looking implement their #Transformation #ASAP?
After the #Startup of the new business model, additional #complexity and #customization is going to be needed to accomplish growth needs? However, a solution #Reimplementation is going to be completely unacceptable?
How can this be made feasible?
A #Fast implementation requires to avoid “reinventing the wheel” and for that, to #StartSmall means to implement following the #BestPractices. How? Implementing an appropriate and pre-configured #QuoteToCash solution. Please keep in mind that, Perfectionism always is enemy of success.
To #ThinkBig doesn’t mean to start with a “Mickey Mouse Solution”, because earlier than later a #ReImplementation will be needed. Means choosing a #WorldClass solution, with enough horsepower below the hood to ensure growth.
#GMB’s #BISTRO is a preconfigured #Quote-to-Cash solution, based on #SAPBRIM, and plenty of #BestPractices, #IndustryAccelerators and #FlexibleTemplates, that enable a #Fast and a #Low-Cost implementation in about 1 to 2 quarters.

Transformation based on BISTRO – Episode#9
In our previous Episode, we showed how a #MinimumViableProduct (#MVP) leverages a success and low-cost implementation, this #Episode9, is dedicated to trigger a discussion about #MigrationStrategies and how to #MitigateRisks and facilitate a smooth #ChangeManagement.
Usual customer’s comments and concerns:
“We need to do a #BigBang because we cannot survive with 2 #QuoteToCash systems”.
“How we will be able to drive #CSRs #ChangeManagement having 2 #QuoteToCash front ends?”.
” If we do a #RollOut how we will be able to split #Payments coming into the current Bank interface”.
“Should we migrate only #MasterData and #OpenItems or also #Transactions into the new solution?”.
“And how will we be able to access #HistoricalData from the new #Quote-to-Cash solution if we don’t migrate #Transactions?”.
Thoughts to brainstorm:
Is the #Risk of doing a #BigBang measurable and mitigable? If not, you should think of a #MVP first, and then a #Roll-Out.
If you decide to move into a #Roll-Out, and you’d like to continue having just one #FrontOffice and you’d like to preserve #Payment information, don’t you have a #Mediation problem between the new and legacy #Quote-to-Cash systems, between new and legacy #FrontOffice systems and between migrated and non-migrated #MasterData ?.
And regarding migration of #Transactions, is your #DataQuality good enough to move them into the new #Quote-to-Cash system or could it be better to move them into a #HistoricalRepository? However, if that is the case, your #Mediation challenges are going to be bigger.
In summary, according to our better understanding, #Migration strategies depend on your capabilities to #MitigateRisks of a #BigBang implementation, or how to drive a smoothly #Transformation and #ChangeManagement process based on #Mediation facilities.
Learn more about #GMB’s #BISTRO fast and low-cost implementation facilities, as well as #GMB’s #MigrationSplitter strategy based on #SAPMediation (by #DigitalRoute) at: https://www.gmbtechnology.com/ or schedule a call at: https://calendly.com/gmbtechnology
Quote-to-Cash Digital-Transformation based on BISTRO – Episode#8
In our previous Episode, we show how critical is to #ThinkBig but #BuildSmall in the #QuoteToCash #Transformation, why Requirements should be prioritized, the importance to start with a High-Level Design and the rational of an initial configuration based on few Products, few Customer Agreements and only one Country; as an introduction into this #Episode8, dedicated to show why a #MinimumViableProduct (#MVP) will impact on a success and low-cost implementation.
2nd Attention focus:
§ Is a #MVP the same as a #ProofOfConcept (#PoC) or a #Prototype?
§ Why does an #MVP sometimes take too much time and could be so expensive?
§ Should you test your #DataQuality and #MigrationStrategy on the #MVP?
§ Should you Go-Live with your #MVP or just do a Non-Productive Go-Live?
§ Should you run a #MVP from Scratch or based on a Preconfigured instance of the targeted #QuoteToCash solution?
Thoughts to brainstorm:
§ A #MVP is similar to a #PoC, however a #PoC usually is run by the solution vendor or a System Integrator (SI), based on: some or limited requirements collected by their Presales Team, not always based on real customer data, and only in few cases, based in a High-Level Design. The key objective of a #PoC is to help the customer to decide if the solution could work but not help to see holistically and in real how the business will run on the solution, like happen in a #MVP.
§ A #Prototype could be like a #MVP, however the key difference is that normally is not based on a High-Level Design. Evangelists of Prototyping normally promote to “not lose time” on a design, and just start configuring requirements.
§ Major issues of a #PoC or a #Prototype are that working without a “minimum viable end-to-end scope” and High-Level Design as a Roadmap, Scope and Time usually have deviations, and for that, normally are more expensive than a #MVP.
§ Because in a #MVP your are configuring end-to-end a piece of the business (few Products, few Customers and 1 country), it’s 100% possible to test the Model with Real Data, what will show, by the way, if their quality could be a “headache” at the moment of the implementation.
§ Should you Go-Live or Not with your #MVP? Our recommendation is that, after a successful Non-Productive test with real data, you should Go-Live. About convivence with your Legacy systems and Model of Operation…we will talk in another Episode.
§ And to close the loop, a #MVP run on a Preconfigured instance of the targeted solution, will avoid deviations that normally happen starting from Scratch.
In summary, a #MVP helps companies Transforming their #QuoteToCash to see:
§ End-to-End how a key piece of their #Business will flow on the new #EnterpriseArchitecture.
§ Because is based on a High-Level Architecture and Real Data, enforces a clear focus and, prevents deviations and surprises at the moment of the Go-Live.
§ When the #MVP is based on #GMBs #BISTRO, an #SAPBRIM Preconfigured instance, of most powerful #QuoteToCash solution, you will #MitigateRisks of deviations, wrong decisions and big bang implementations, during your #Transformation journey.
Learn more about #GMB, one of the most recognized “curators” of #SAPBRIM solution, that also holds one of the longest track records of working on #critical and #escalated projects, that no one else has been able to tackle, at: https://www.gmbtechnology.com/
Quote-to-Cash Digital-Transformation based on BISTRO – Episode#7
Today we will start an open-minded discussion about the reasons that make #Quote2Cash #DigitalTransformation projects fail.
1st Attention focus:
Are you trying to #Transform the whole #Quote2Cash process at the same time?
Are you accumulating tons of #Requirements without the appropriate #Prioritization?
If you configure tons of requirements, how long will it take you to test everything?
How will you be able to discriminate the overlapping failures consequence of thousands of configurations and integrations with all those requirements?
Has your System Integrator suggested taking a pure #Agile or #Activate approach?
Some thoughts to brainstorm:
§ Would you like to collect all requirements? Just go ahead, however you should prioritize them.
§ How #prioritization should be driven? We suggest the following recommendations:
o The business is always the locomotive and solutions are the carriages, however, always follow your #EnterpriseArchitect guidelines to maximize business needs and minimize solution customizations.
o Don’t invest too much time in a super Detailed Design, just #Explore core needs and create a High-Level Design as a #Roadmap of your journey. The Detailed Design is a live document, that only at the end of your journey is achievable.
o Finally, consider that configuration of #Quote-2-Cash solutions majorly follow this sequence: Products -> Customer Agreements (commercial and financial) -> -> Countries. This means that you should prioritize a small set of Products, for very few Customer Agreements and only one Country. Please revisit the figure of our Episode#6 https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7034122663820210176).
#Agile or #Activate? Probably neither of them in their pure statement. Several projects fail or at least have strong deviations because don’t take care that #Quote-2-Cash solutions should be designed and configured holistically and not by small sprints. Only Agile or Activate methodologies specifically adapted for Quote2Cash, can ensure a healthy implementation.
In summary
Think big, build small and ALWAYS keep it simple!!!
In the next Episode we will continue with the 2nd Attention focus, how to implement a success and low-cost #MinimumViableProduct (#MVP), but by now, don’t hesitate to schedule some time to exchange professional opinions with #GMB, one of the most recognized “curators” of #SAPBRIM solution, that also holds one of the longest track records of working on #critical and #escalated projects, that no one else has been able to tackle.
