Quote-to-Cash Digital-Transformation based on BISTRO – Episode#7
Today we will start an open-minded discussion about the reasons that make #Quote2Cash #DigitalTransformation projects fail.
1st Attention focus:
Are you trying to #Transform the whole #Quote2Cash process at the same time?
Are you accumulating tons of #Requirements without the appropriate #Prioritization?
If you configure tons of requirements, how long will it take you to test everything?
How will you be able to discriminate the overlapping failures consequence of thousands of configurations and integrations with all those requirements?
Has your System Integrator suggested taking a pure #Agile or #Activate approach?
Some thoughts to brainstorm:
§ Would you like to collect all requirements? Just go ahead, however you should prioritize them.
§ How #prioritization should be driven? We suggest the following recommendations:
o The business is always the locomotive and solutions are the carriages, however, always follow your #EnterpriseArchitect guidelines to maximize business needs and minimize solution customizations.
o Don’t invest too much time in a super Detailed Design, just #Explore core needs and create a High-Level Design as a #Roadmap of your journey. The Detailed Design is a live document, that only at the end of your journey is achievable.
o Finally, consider that configuration of #Quote-2-Cash solutions majorly follow this sequence: Products -> Customer Agreements (commercial and financial) -> -> Countries. This means that you should prioritize a small set of Products, for very few Customer Agreements and only one Country. Please revisit the figure of our Episode#6 https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7034122663820210176).
#Agile or #Activate? Probably neither of them in their pure statement. Several projects fail or at least have strong deviations because don’t take care that #Quote-2-Cash solutions should be designed and configured holistically and not by small sprints. Only Agile or Activate methodologies specifically adapted for Quote2Cash, can ensure a healthy implementation.
In summary
Think big, build small and ALWAYS keep it simple!!!
In the next Episode we will continue with the 2nd Attention focus, how to implement a success and low-cost #MinimumViableProduct (#MVP), but by now, don’t hesitate to schedule some time to exchange professional opinions with #GMB, one of the most recognized “curators” of #SAPBRIM solution, that also holds one of the longest track records of working on #critical and #escalated projects, that no one else has been able to tackle.
