Transformation based on BISTRO – Episode#9
In our previous Episode, we showed how a #MinimumViableProduct (#MVP) leverages a success and low-cost implementation, this #Episode9, is dedicated to trigger a discussion about #MigrationStrategies and how to #MitigateRisks and facilitate a smooth #ChangeManagement.
Usual customer’s comments and concerns:
“We need to do a #BigBang because we cannot survive with 2 #QuoteToCash systems”.
“How we will be able to drive #CSRs #ChangeManagement having 2 #QuoteToCash front ends?”.
” If we do a #RollOut how we will be able to split #Payments coming into the current Bank interface”.
“Should we migrate only #MasterData and #OpenItems or also #Transactions into the new solution?”.
“And how will we be able to access #HistoricalData from the new #Quote-to-Cash solution if we don’t migrate #Transactions?”.
Thoughts to brainstorm:
Is the #Risk of doing a #BigBang measurable and mitigable? If not, you should think of a #MVP first, and then a #Roll-Out.
If you decide to move into a #Roll-Out, and you’d like to continue having just one #FrontOffice and you’d like to preserve #Payment information, don’t you have a #Mediation problem between the new and legacy #Quote-to-Cash systems, between new and legacy #FrontOffice systems and between migrated and non-migrated #MasterData ?.
And regarding migration of #Transactions, is your #DataQuality good enough to move them into the new #Quote-to-Cash system or could it be better to move them into a #HistoricalRepository? However, if that is the case, your #Mediation challenges are going to be bigger.
In summary, according to our better understanding, #Migration strategies depend on your capabilities to #MitigateRisks of a #BigBang implementation, or how to drive a smoothly #Transformation and #ChangeManagement process based on #Mediation facilities.
